Operation 10 (FRAGO)
Raider Base Assault

Intent: While defending against a raider assault, Team 12 recovered intel which lead them to the location of the raider base.

Operation 9

Intent:
As a FRAGO to their original orders, the team was diverted to a small Kurdish village. The village was heavily fortified and occupied the only pass through the mountains for several hundred miles to the north and south. After tense negotiations with the village elder, the team agreed to exchange trade their services for safe passage for the evacuation. The village elder explained that there was a band of marauders that often plagued them. Team 12 manned their barricades and directed their small guard force to destroy the enemy raiding party.

AAR:
Despite initial difficulties with the negotiations, eventually an agreement was made. During the firefight, Agent Hughes and Mr. Royale were lightly injured and treated on scene. Two village guards were killed.

Result:
This agreement, assuming the village holds to it, will greatly reduce the length of the convoy route by an estimate of almost four hundred miles. The village may also serve as a resupply point. Intel was also recovered from one of the dead raiders pointing towards a possible base of operations. CPT Mason made the decision to assault their base.

Operation 8
LP/OP

Intent:
The team is to set up an LP/OP along the proposed route and assess it based upon security, passability, effectiveness & other factors. Expect this to be an extended mission. Prepare for at least five days without resupply.

AAR:
While emplaced in their hide site, the team had a soft compromise. The decision to neutralize the LN who had compromised them was made onsite by the team leader. Unfortunately, the team elected to stay in place, and they were move upon by a force of approx. 12 armed LN (the assumption of the team is that they were looking for the missing person). Team 12 exchanged fire with the LNs, and all were eliminated. CPT Mason and PVT Mallard moved from the site to scout another hide site, and were engaged again. They neutralized the hostiles and coninued on.

Result:
The team was compromised in their hide site before much data could be gathered and were forced to relocate to another location for intelligence gathering.

Operation 7
Hasty Ambush

Intent:
Your team is to act as a scouting element for the upcoming evacuation. You mission is to travel a length of the proposed route and assess it based upon security, passability, effectiveness & other factors. Expect this to be an extended mission. Prepare for at least five days without resupply.

AAR:
While inbound to their LP/OP location, the team was diverted to intercept an enemy patrol. After setting up in ambush, the team engaged and eliminated an enemy eight-man element. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the enemy patrol was composed of Iranian Quds. Following the engagement, the team moved on to their LP/OP location and set themselves in place.

Result:
No friendly units were injured. The presence of Quds, especially when combined with the report of an engagement with an Iranian Army unit earlier, is troubling. Intelligence assets are investigating the presence of Iranian units and their purpose in Kurdistan.

Operation 6
Scavenging Patrol

Intent:
Since the evacuation, regrouping and consolidation immediately following the collapse of CivGov, a lot of military resources are unaccounted for. Command wants teams sent out to search abandoned facilities for useful resources.
Your team is to search a nearby COB for any available resources. The benefit of this operation is two-fold; it is both putting more materiel into our hands, and keeping materiel out of enemy hands.

AAR:
Upon completion of their search of the COB, the team was engaged by a ten-man Iranian Army squad. Following an extended fire-fight, all enemies were neutralized. CPT Mason and Mr. Royale sustained minor injuries and were treated on site.

Result:
Some minor equipment was recovered, which will be maintained by the team for future use. The outcome of the scavenging was not as effective as hoped. Contact with elements of the Iranian Army is troubling, but as the team did not recover any actionable intel, we have little to work with.

Operation 5
HVT Recovery

Intent:
Command has disseminated a list of U.S. & friendly-nation civilians that need to be collected to evacuate with us. Specifically, Doctor Richardson & Ambassador Nichols.

Doctor Richardson is a U.S. civilian in country on behalf of a non-profit humanitarian aide group. Doctor Richardson has an M.D. in internal medicine & has been running a clinic in a rural farming area. He is the only personnel at that site authorized for pick-up.

Ambassador Nichol has been running the new U.S embassy in the capital of Kurdistan, Kirkuk, with a skeleton crew. The embassy’s position has been becoming increasingly dangerous, and with the dissolution of the U.S. Government, has been unnecessary. You are to extract the Ambassador & as much of his staff as possible.

Other extractions will be taking place concurrently with yours.

AAR:
Ambassador Nichols and three civilians (1x US, 2x LN) were recovered from the embassy site. After the team made contact, they were surrounded by hostile forces. They identified themselves as ‘The Hand of Allah’, led by a man who identified himself as ‘Kaleed Hassan’. MI assets are attempting to develop information on this group. The group asked that the ambassador be turned over to them, which CPT Mason refused. The group opened fire upon friendly forces. All enemy forces were destroyed, totalling 10x enemy personnel (including Hassan) and 1x ‘technical’ improvised guntruck. They returned with the ambassador without incident.

While enroute to Doctor Richardson’s location, the team was ambushed by enemy mounted and dismounted forces. Enemy forces were positioned along elevated terrain that ran parallel and along both sides of the team’s route. A technical pulled in front of the patrol and engaged them with HMG fire, while hidden personnel engaged with SAF and one RPG. The team engaged enemy personnel with both crew-served and SAF. All enemy forces were destroyed, totalling 9x enemy personnel and 1x ‘technical’ improvised guntruck. The patrol continued to the objective. Upon arrival, the team met with Doctor Richardson. The doctor refused to leave. The team made the decision to physically force compliance from the doctor, restraining him and loading him into their vehicle. They returned with the doctor without incident. Both friendly vehicles sustained minor damage, both of which was repaired onsite.

Result:
Both assigned HVTs were recovered, although Doctor Richardson’s compliance was forced, which may complicate further work with him.

Operation 3
Raiding Chechan Camp.

Intent:
MI assets and the fusion cell have determined that there is a Chechan presence within our AO. Command feels that without further information and disruption of this group, continuation of Operation: Southern Dawn will be too dangerous.
You are to perform a presence patrol through a nearby friendly village in an attempt to gather HUMINT relating to the threat.

AAR:
After considerable work, the team determined that theres was a significant presence operating relatively close to the friendly village. After following leads, the team located and then eliminated all enemies present. Ten Chechen fighters were killed. No injuries to friendly personnel.
Several anti-tank mine were recovered on site, including mines with serial numbers one more and one lesss than the serial number of the AT mine recovered previously.

Results:
The operational capabilities of the Chechans operating in the area have been effectively neutralized. A large quantity of information on on-going hostile operations was also recovered and is being analyzed by MI assets.

Operation 2
Village with tunnel complex.

Intent:
Scout abandoned village, search for useful resources, assess potential for staging area or LP/OP and secure area for hand over to 3rds platoon, A Company.

AAR:
After a search of the area, minimal resources were found on site, although an AT mine was found emplaced in thse center of the main thoroughfair near the edge of town. The mine was retained by the team. As the team exploited the area, a series of underground tunnels were dicovered and investigated. The tunnels appeared to be a hidden staging area for anti-Coalition activities. The tunnels weres occupied, and five enemy combatants were eliminated. Captain Anders sustained minor injuries and was treated on location. The site was turned over to 3rd Platoon, A Company without further incident.

Result:
While minimal resources were recovered, a hostile cell was disrupted and a facility was removed from their control. A company is currently rotating squads through the site, using it as a long-term OP.
